FLINT, Michigan — Hundreds of men and women lined up outside of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church this morning to get a free turkey.
The Concerned Pastors for Social Action plans to give away 500 turkeys to local families. By 10:30 this morning, 300 turkeys were already handed out.
The turkey giveaway began at 9 a.m., but Reverend Lewis Randolph, of Antioch, said people were in line before 8 a.m.
"If people get up and stand outside in the cold, that’s a sign that they need what you’re giving," Randolph said.
As of 11:30 a.m., turkeys were still available. The only requirements is that residents have an ID, to help enforce the one turkey per household rule.
"I just feel good knowing that we’re able to do something for somebody."
